Warwick netballers lose at states

THE Warwick 15-years netball side finished the State Age Championships at Maroochydore yesterday with one and two-goal losses in Division 3.

Warwick was fourth overall with seven wins from 11 games.

Yesterday, Warwick lost by one goal to Kingaroy and two to Rockhampton.

Coach Lisa Fitzgerald said the performance by her team was a huge improvement on last year.

“We were sixth last year and all of the teams had improved since 2009,” Fitzgerald said.

“New player Gabby McCosker improved markedly during the championships.”

Warwick won six from 11 games in the Division 2 13- years competition to finish midfield.

They went up a division from last year’s challenge carnival to perform well.

In the 14 and 16 years age group, the Warwick teams improved during a fun weekend at Maroochydore.
