National cricket grand final for Lucy today

CRICKET: Warwick pair Lucy Bourke and Carly Cooper have both made it to finals cricket in different parts of the country this week.

Lucy is vice-captain of the Queensland 10-12 years team playing in the nationals at Cobram and Barooga this week on the New South Wales/Victorian border.

Queensland scored 109 on Thursday to beat a Victorian team that scored 75.

Lucy scored one run and took 1-7 off seven overs with the ball, the sort of economy captains worldwide dream of.

In the Australian Country Nationals at Geraldton in Western Australia, Carly Cooper is part of a Queensland team which qualified in fourth place for the semis.

Despite a loss on Thursday to South Australia Country, they still made the finals. Cooper was involved in one run out in the field, her third for the tournament.

They play the unbeaten Victoria in one semis and a win will put them in the grand final.
