Netball ready for holidays but more close games assured

NETBALL CHAT with Linda Bunch

AS WE BREAK for two weeks for the school holidays, it's hard to believe in a season running from February to September we are down to single-figure weeks remaining to finals time.

This week may have also seen precursors to our grand final games with both fixture nights at WIRAC having top of the table games.

With the third versus fourth semi-final being a knockout game, the pressure is on Ravens, Hazzards and Confro to avoid the dreaded third place.

A win versus a loss for the remaining weeks will have these teams swapping positions in the points table.

A see-sawing quarter by quarter between Confro and Ravens this week had Ravens victorious by two goals.

But breathing space on the error front was non-existent with a single turnover being the difference between a win and loss.

Beautiful highly skilled netball and players had spectators glued to their seats for the duration of the game.

New 2017 social fixture team Strikers had a strong mid game to secure a 32-28 win against Renegades.

However Strikers will be wary for their next clash after Renegades won the last quarter 11-7.

Further down the points table sits a very interesting five teams separated by only a six-point scenario.

A win is worth four points.

Bring on the run to the finals which start August 21 at WIRAC.
