New additions on deck at Allora kindergarten

THE last 12 months have been hectic, but the Allora Community Kindergarten is reaping the rewards.

The centre now boasts a new enclosed deck, an access ramp, newly renovated bathrooms and new undercover shading outdoors.

The centre received $150,000 in grants to make the work happen.

Allora Community Kindergarten director and teacher Fiona Milburn said it was important young children had a strong start at kindergarten.

"It's great to provide the community with a modern building," Ms Milburn said.

"Previously we didn't have any shade outside and we now have disability access with the front ramp.

"It's been a challenging 12 months so we're lucky the families and community have worked with us.

"Kindergarten is so important - it provides that school readiness and foundation for moving into prep."

Ms Milburn said there were still limited places available at the kindergarten for 2015, with parents encouraged to book quickly to avoid missing out.
