Veteran businessman is new chairman at Warwick Credit Union
THE Warwick Credit Union board has had a changing of the guard with a new chairman taking the reins.
Former deputy chair Ross Fraser OAM, of Frasers Livestock Transport, will the step into the role being vacated by Olsens Home, Timber and Hardware director Alan Olsen after 11 years in the job.
Mr Fraser commended Mr Olsen on his dedication to the aims and objectives of Warwick Credit Union over his time as chairman.
"Alan has been a source of strength and integrity," he said.
"His reputation and standing in the community have served the Warwick Credit Union well, ensuring it remains focused on customers and community.'
"In the period of Mr Olsen's tenure, assets grew by $139m from $130m to $269m."
Mr Olsen, who will step into the vacant deputy chair position said Mr Fraser would bring the strength of his wide business experience and knowledge to his new role.
"After 11 years, it's time for a change and some new ideas," he said.
"The credit union is something I'm really passionate about, it's a major asset from the Southern Downs, keeping business and employment in the region."
CEO Lewis von Stieglitz said it was business as usual for the board.
"Our board members have enormous local commitment and I'm really grateful that we have people of this calibre in town who are willing to pitch in - the credit union is in good hands and has a bright future."
