New lock ready for challenge

THE move of Jesse McIvor to lock is the major change to the Warwick Cowboys side for tomorrow night's A-grade game against Pittsworth at Father Ranger Oval.

McIvor has played centre for the past two games and was players' player and best back in the loss to Gatton on Sunday.

He played a little bit in the back row last season but was mainly at centre.

“I will be doing a lot more defence in the middle which I like and should get my hands on the ball a bit more,” McIvor said.

He sees an opportunity to take advantage of some excellent offloads from Queensland Rangers forward Cameron Mulcahy.

McIvor remembers a loss to Pittsworth at Pittsworth last season.

“We are much harder to beat at home,” he said.

The first of four games is C grade at 2.30pm.
