New playground equipment chosen for Dalveen Hall park
DALVEEN residents have voted on options for new playground equipment to be installed beside Dalveen Hall.
The decision to install new playground equipment was made after feedback from Dalveen residents.
Residents said they felt the existing playground was not well suited to the community.
Southern Downs Regional Council resolved to install the additional equipment targeted at older children for the 2015/16 financial year.
Mayor Peter Blundell said the council specifically engaged with the Dalveen community, through various avenues, to obtain feedback from residents about their preferred option for the new playground equipment.
Cr Blundell said option four was the people's choice.
"Installation of the new equipment in Dalveen Park is scheduled for the new year, starting on Monday, January 4 and is expected to take about a week to complete," he said.
"As the area will become a work site during the construction, access will not be permitted in the interests of safety.
"It is anticipated that this new equipment will provide many years of enjoyment for the children of Dalveen and surrounding areas."
Cr Blundell thanked the community for their feedback and input on the issue.
