New president at the helm of Warwick Clay Target Club

SHOOTING: Danny Green will succeed Michael Loy as president of the Warwick Clay Target Club from the Christmas shoot on December 6.

Green, who lives in Warwick, has been a member of the club for the past five years.

Loy was president for seven years after being elected soon after the death of his father, Robin Loy, who was previously president for a similar time.

Jennine Garrard is vice-president, with Kylie Green secretary and Jo McNally treasurer.

All four are new to the executive after the retirement of secretary-treasurer Terry Davis who filled the role for a decade and vice-president Dave Caldwell who was in the position for five years.

Davis has vowed to return to more regular club competition after being in the club office for most of the shoots in the past decade.

Today the Queensland Clay Target Association State Championships for Olympic double trap will be held at the club range in Rosenthal Rd.

Shooting starts at 9am with 30 shooters expected.

The shooters will compete in groups of six and shoot 25 pairs on three occasions in quest of a spot in the final which will start after 2pm.
