Newsagency gauges need for book
PREPARE your rain gauge because rainfall record books are now available at Hynes Newsagency on Palmerin St, Warwick.
The process of getting the books made started after we received a few customer inquiries, staff member Kerry Fearby said.
"We then felt that because this region is made up of people in the farming industry it would be useful for them to be able to have their own records to look back on," she said.
"Customers so far have been pleased with the product and there has been interest from people living in town as well, particularly following the floods last year.
"Enquiring customers Bob and Kathleen Kennedy have already been keeping their own rainfall record book since 1951."
Office manager Regina Millard said the book can be used for years and generations to come.
"One book has enough space for 100 years of rainfall records and is set out a page per year," she said.
The rainfall record books retail for $35.
