Nicky makes move to city
MOVING to the other side of the country can be a daunting task, but for this arty English-turned-Aussie girl, it's a bundle of excitement.
Nicky Garner will board a Boeing 747 from Perth on January 22, to live in Warwick while she does Equine Studies at Warwick Tafe.
But this sculptor, artist, tattooist and darn-right cool gal is looking for a place to stay.
Ms Garner is willing to do farm chores for rent, and is keen to keep her tattooing up in the Rose City.
"I've worked on farms and I like the idea of having space but in saying that, even the places in town are almost all on large blocks," Ms Garner said.
Whoever decides to take Ms Garner under their wing will have to make room for her art equipment.
"I'm a working artist so I do need somewhere for me to do my sculpting and painting without getting in everyone's way," she said.
"I also have a motorbike so somewhere undercover I can keep that would be ideal."
Ms Garner said she was excited to live in Queensland and had plans to get into some of the events we Warwick folk take seriously.
"I'd love to get into campdrafting and I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of new people and having new experiences," she said.
She also can't wait to start studying what she's always wanted to do.
"I will be working with horses finally," Ms Garner said.
"I've wanted to do it for such a long time and I've worked on stations but haven't had any formal training."
