NiE - Picture This

Have you ever heard the expression "A picture is worth a thousand words"?  Mankind has always wanted to capture the events of life in pictures. From the earliest cave drawings, to paintings on canvas, to modern day photography we have wanted to capture the world around us.

A photograph is an example of an image that paints a picture, tells a story and records an event. Today, most of us have a camera. Whether it's a simple one on our mobile phone, a point and shoot or a top of the range digital camera, we have the tools to capture moments in our lives.

Photographs are important. They are proof that something actually happened and can keep memories alive. Photos can also show someone something they themselves cannot see. It can show something that is happening all over the world, even if you are not there. Photos are a means of communication. A good photo tells a story and conveys every element of the scene with action, movement and emotion.
