Nightclub reveller charged with assaulting police officer

A 23-YEAR-old Mackay man will face court tomorrow, after being charged with the serious assault of a police officer and obstructing a police officer.
The charges followed an incident on Gregory St, at 1.10am Sunday morning.
Police allege the man kicked a police officer as he was removed from a nightclub in the CBD.
He has also been banned from the CBD region.
The police officer was not hospitalised.
