Nike keeps sponsorship deal with disgraced Lance Armstrong

NIKE is sticking by its man ... for now.

Despite the mountain of evidence that disgraced cycling star Lance Armstrong used performance-enhancing drugs during a career that brought seven Tour de France titles, as of Tuesday the sportswear giant was still one of Armstrong's major sponsors.

It was also forced to deny the claim it paid $A470,000 to cover up a failed drugs test from the American in 1999.

The claim was made by Kathy Lemond, the wife of Greg Lemond, one of Armstrong's compatriots, in an interview with the New York Daily News, but Nike said it "vehemently denies" the allegation.
