Nine fun things to do around Warwick this weekend

GRAB a bargain at the markets or join in some Christmas cheer, there's plenty to do around Warwick this weekend.

1. Carols in the park

WARM up those vocal chords because Christmas carols are returning to Leslie Park.

The 2018 Rose City Shoppingworld Carols in the Park will be held this weekend and instead of being held at the Leslie Park rotunda, the performers will be set up in a bigger space near WIRAC.

There will be more food vendors this year along with a free jumping castle and face-painting.

Marco Gliori, Melissa Reid and Warwick City Band are just some of the performers taking part.

2. Uber markets

HAVE you got a few pennies to burn? Do you love to support local makers, crafters and creators? Pop on down to the Warwick Uber Markets this Saturday where you will find a range of artisan delights.

Whether it be locally produced honey, recycled trinkets, stunning photographs or the adorable puppies from Southern Downs ARK, there is sure to be something that will tickle your fancy.

Make sure you save some money for a delicious organic crepe or ice cream from one of the food vans.

3. Art Collective

TAKE a break from the screen and admire some of the beautiful imagery created by local artists at the Willow Gallery Collective in Killarney. Run on love and hard work by volunteers, the Willow Gallery Collective is the place where creatives collaborate and showcase their talent. The end of year celebration and group exhibition will pay tribute to some of the stunning beauties produced in the Southern Downs this year.

4. Colouring competition

CREATIVE kids, this is your time to shine. Pull out your paintbrush and get on down to the Optus store in Rose City Shoppingworld for your chance to win an Optus prize pack in the Christmas "Grinch” colouring competition. Head into the store to collect and submit the colouring page. Age groups for the competition range include:

- Under 5s,

- 6-10 years

- 11-5 years

The creative competition runs 19 November - 19 December 2018 and the winners will be announced on the Optus Facebook page on 20 December.

5. Warwick parkrun

EACH Saturday, walkers and runners are on the go at 7am in Warwick parkrun.

If an active weekend is on the cards, this is a great way to get it started.

All participants aim to cover two 2.5km laps around the river but can go at their own pace so there's no need to hurry.

6. Relax, meditate

KEEP your cool this weekend and get into your zone with Catherine Elliott's magical meditation class.

Held at the Red Rose Healing Centre, this hour-long meditation group will help you connect with yourself and others.

Learn techniques to calm the mind, develop resilience and get back into your happy headspace.

The class consists of periods of guided relaxation, and times of silence. The focus is on connecting with a place within, a place of peace and deep silence.

7. Belt a tune

SHARPEN up those windpipes Warwick and get down to the Criterion Hotel for a social sing-along.

Grab your friends, family, Tinder date and party with DJ Dude.

8. Store galore

IT'S the store you can't walk past without crooning - Pets Domain in Rose City Shoppingworld it turning one year old today!

Celebrating 12 months of fun and fluffiness, the birthday affair has something for everyone to enjoy.

Open all day, pop in and purchase any item and you will go in the draw to win a BP Classic 20L Aquarium.

There's also a fun colouring-in competition and the winner gets to take home their very own pet fighter fish and aquarium kit.

Entries close Sunday 9 December at 4pm. Winners will be notified Monday 10 December.
