No One Nation candidate in first announcement

SOUTHERN Downs is not among the 36 electorates in which Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party announced its candidates today for next year's State Election.

It is understood more One Nation candidates will be named in the new year.

The One Nation State Election candidates nearest to Southern Downs so far named are Rod Smith (Beaudesert), Bradley Trussell (Ipswich West), Jim Savage (Lockyer) and Lynette Keehn (Condamine). Keehn was the party candidate for the last Federal election in Maranoa.

LNP Member for Southern Downs Lawrence Springborg announced a fortnight ago he would not be seeking re-election at the next election.

The Daily News left messages for One Nation yesterday seeking information on its plans for the seat.
