THE competition may be heating up, but outside temperatures are heading south with cooler nights expected for campers at the Barastoc Polocrosse Nationals.

Today, Warwick is likely to get a few showers and thunderstorms but remain mostly dry which is a plus for riders practicing at Morgan Park.

Weatherzone meteorologist Josh Fischer said despite the chance of a slightly wet day, the sun should still be peeking through the clouds.

"We're looking at a top of 29 degrees with a minimum of 13 degrees," Mr Fischer said.

Tomorrow is predicted to be fine, with a low of 13 and a high of 28 degrees.

The polocrosse fields should be dry for the first day of competition, with patchy rain expected to develop as the day goes on.

"There is a trough moving in from the west and you should see a few millimetres of rain in the region but nothing too heavy," Mr Fischer said.

Similar conditions are expected for Tuesday, with the possibility of a few storms lurking around.

Temperatures will drop off for Anzac Day with a low of 10 degrees and a high of 23, so scarves might be a must for those heading to a dawn service.

Thursday is predicted to remain cloudy, with overnight temperatures dropping to a chilly eight degrees.

Mr Fischer said Friday should be sunny, with temps still around the eight to 23 degree range.

The good news is the polocrosse should not be affected by wet weather, with only a few showers predicted.

The bad news? Campers who didn't pack that extra jumper may feel the pinch come nightfall.
