Man shot during Nobby robbery

A CLIFTON man has undergone a "relatively minor procedure" at Toowoomba Base Hospital this morning after being shot during a robbery at Nobby yesterday.

Doctors say the 45-year-old is in a stable condition and is expected to be out of hospital in a couple of days, after undergoing surgery.

The Clifton man was shot in the leg at about 3.45pm Sunday by an unknown male wearing a balaclava and helmet.

After firing the shot, the offender stole the victim’s car keys and took off in the Holden Statesman sedan along the back roads to Cambooya.

If the vehicle is sighted, Clifton Police are warning people not to approach the vehicle or driver, as he could still be armed.

The registration plate on the vehicle is 321 JVQ.

The offender is described as aged between 35 and 45 years, approximately 180cm tall with a tanned complexion and brown hair.  He was wearing a motorcycle helmet, balaclava and dark clothes.

Anyone who sights the vehicle is urged to immediately contact police on Triple Zero (000).

Anyone with any other information relating to yesterday's incident should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Clifton Police on 4697 3120.
