Nominations needed for the fifth volunteer award night
SPORTS VOLUNTEERS: Nominations are needed as soon as possible for the fifth annual Condamine Sports Club Volunteer of the Year award.
The award was first presented in March 2014 when long-time hockey volunteer Darryl Gillam won it for his work in 2013 and in previous years.
Warwick Gymnastic Club event secretary Dani Peel was the 2014 winner with Riding for the Disabled official Tracey Sexton the 2015 winner.
Last year, Greg Carey, from the Warwick Cowboys, was the winner after long service as a volunteer to rugby league and athletics.
Nominations are requested to gerardw@warwickdaily.news.com.au with supporting information or call 46601313 between Sunday and Thursday.
The award will be judged half on volunteer work in 2017 and half on volunteer work down the years in all sports.
The junior sports star judges will decide on the winner, based on the information supplied, additional information will not be sought from other sources or Daily News stories.
A presentation will be made to each volunteer on the night and the Condamine Sports Club will present a $500 cheque to the winner for their primary club.
The volunteer awards will be presented at the 25th annual Daily News/Warwick Credit Union Junior Sports Star of the Year dinner at the Hawker Rd Function Centre on March 19.
Tickets on sale later this week.
