Not afraid of spotlight

STRIDING on to a darkened stage, waiting while for the spotlight to find her, this is where teen Whitney Clark feels most comfortable.

However, joining the hordes of hopeful local girls who will be in contention for the Junior Warwick Showgirl is a spotlight Whitney is unfamiliar with.

“I’ve never done anything like this before,” the 14-year-old said.

“I love to sing and recently had a successful audition for the Southern Downs Voices.”

Last Saturday Whitney celebrated her birthday and decided she wanted to do something for her own personal growth.

“My friend won the Killarney Showgirl competition and she said it was great fun so I wanted to give it a go.”
