Nothing but ‘goodies’ for Sue

LIFE is a mixed bag of goodies for one Relay for Life team, who are coming together to support a friend undergoing cancer treatment.

The Mixed Bag of Goodies team is made up of members of the Warwick Swimming Club, who are participating in honour of club treasurer Sue Skaines as she continues her treatment.

Team captain Selena Vickers said Sue had been very supportive of the team.

"She's been touched by the team coming together to support her," Mrs Vickers said.

"We're just hoping she can come out on top of this."

Sue's two daughters Abigail and Caitlin are also in the team.

When picking the team name, the kids came up with a list before the final name was chosen.

"We chose the name because life is a mixed bag of goodies," Mrs Vickers said.

"Sometimes good things happen and sometimes bad things happen."

The Mixed Bag of Goodies are looking forward to Saturday's relay, with the team eager to get out of the pool and get walking.

While the team haven't been out and about fundraising, they have exceeded their goal to raise $1000.

"Our friends and families have been sponsoring us - they've been very supportive," Mrs Vickers said.

"Warwick has had such great support for the relay."
