Nothing like drag racing on a Harley
DRAGFEST held a special challenge for rider Mark "Frog" Woods at the weekend, when he contested his fourth consecutive championship at the track he considers his home track.
The experienced Harley Davidson rider said he developed a love for racing as a child, having grown up around the sport.
He now travels from his home in Brisbane to places all over the state to compete and said he never misses a chance to take part in meets at the Warwick Dragway.
Woods rode a Harley Davidson V-Rod Destroyer at Dragfest and said he was supported by a great crew, including the owners of the bike, Larry and Kay Kolb.
Mr Kolb said he shared a love of racing with his talented driver, who he described as being "one of the best".
"I just love racing - the noise, the smoke and the thrill of beating the bloke beside you," he said.
Mr Kolb said he held the Warwick club in high regard, saying it had a great sense of camaraderie and a laidback feel.
"We class this as our home track. We've been to a few but this one is it and it has such a great atmosphere," he said.
Mr Kolb commended the Warwick Drag Association crew on their hard work and commitment to Dragfest.
