Numbers set to pass 200 for round 2 of Dragfest

MORE than 200 drivers and riders will be in Warwick this weekend for round 2 of the JP Racing Dragfest at Warwick Dragway.

Warwick District Drag Racing Association president Chris Loy said there were 170 nominations a week out from the event.

"We will easily pass 200,” Mr Loy said.

Drivers will come from as far as Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville and Mackay.

Mr Loy said there were large contingents of drivers/riders from the northern rivers of New South Wales, Roma and St George areas.

"We are likely to have 20 nominations from Warwick and 30 to 40 from Toowoomba,” he said.

Nominations for the thrilling event will be taken up to noon today.

To find Warwick Dragway, head around to the fourth facility on the Morgan Park service road.

Saturday: 10am- 5pm: Qualifying

5.30-7.30pm: Round 1 of racing

Sunday: 9am onwards: Racing

2-3pm: Finals
