Office workers stress out over technical errors
FEEL like smashing in the photocopier or computer at your work?
Apparently nine of 10 office workers report wasting time at work due to paper jams, printer and photocopier issues, research funded by the Dick Smith retail chain shows.
The study, which polled 500 office workers and small business owners around Australia, found the average white collar worker spends more than two weeks a year grappling with such "technical issues".
It found one fifth of respondents have spent an entire day trying to solve technical problems and about a third have had to re-do documents after computers crashed.
One in four have felt life smashing a computer or laptop screen when issues strike and 7% have cried due to lost documents or computer crashes.
Dick Smith office merchandise manager Greg Hirsch said technology should be replaced every two years.
"There is also a lack of understanding on how best use technological devices," he said.
"For example, many people put pressure on their hardware to store data, when a more efficient 'cloud' storage system will get better results and prevent computer crashes and delays."
