O'Keefe to get a turn in Sydney Test

STEVE O'Keefe has not flown with the Sydney Sixers to Adelaide and is set to be named in Australia's third Test squad later today.

There is a prevailing feeling that if Australia ultimately goes with just the one spinner in Sydney, it will be O'Keefe and not Nathan Lyon.

Lyon's best hope of staying in the Test side may be if SCG curator Tom Parker prepares an old-fashioned raging turner to greet Pakistan and selectors feel compelled to go with two tweakers.

O'Keefe was to be picked for the third Test against South Africa in Adelaide earlier in the summer, only to be scratched at the last minute due to a calf injury.

However, the 32-year-old has his body right and bowled well for the Sixers in their opening Big Bash encounters.

O'Keefe will definitely fly with Australia to the February tour of India.

Lyon's record suggests he should also be taken to India, however a poor summer has left his future hanging in the balance.

Selectors will name their Sydney squad after play today with the other contentious position the No.6 batting spot, with an all-rounder set to come into the mix.
