Old-fashioned fun on offer for Allora NYE
KIDS will get a taste of some old school fun at the Allora New Year's Eve family celebrations tonight with everything from egg and spoon races to sack races.
Organiser Ted Cowley said the kids activities would get under way from 5.30pm.
"It will be like the old games we used to play at school picnics years ago," Mr Cowley said.
Mr Cowley said the Anything Goes events would offer some good fun for the older kids and even the adults.
"They are hard to describe but have a humorous side to them," he said.
There will also be a jumping castle, snow cones, a slippery slide and a disco to help the kids bring in the new year. "We also have a big movie screen at the showgrounds and will be showing a couple of movies before and after the fireworks," Mr Cowley said.
"It will just be a great family night out."
The firework display, sponsored by David Brown and Chris Hood of Grainx Australia, will light up the sky at 8.30pm.
Mr Cowley said the light show would last 12 to 15 minutes.
There will be lots of entertainment acts to keep the crowd entertained while it enjoys the barbecue dinner, including Denny's Band.
Money raised from the night will be used for a new shower and toilet block at Allora Showground, facilities that Mr Cowley said were badly needed.
