Olympian heading to town to event at Morgan Park
OLYMPIAN Rebel Morrow will be one of the riders to watch as 140 horse-and-rider combinations go through their paces in three eventing disciplines this weekend.
Morrow was the highest-placed Australian in the eventing at the Athens Olympics. She will be in Warwick with four horses this weekend, including one in two-star.
Most of the riders will be in town by today for the Pryde's EasiFeed Warwick International. The riders do a trot up today and then dressage is tomorrow.
Some of the lower level showjumping will be tomorrow then cross country for all riders on Sunday and showjumping for the highest classes on Monday.
This will be the first three-day international event in Warwick for two years. The two major classes will be CCI one-star and CIC two-star.
There will be some riders from northern New South Wales but the field is predominantly from Queensland as most of the riders from the Sydney area are heading to a closer competition at Canberra.
The Johnstone siblings from Inglewood - Kate and Jedd - will be two of the riders in action this weekend. Both are boarders at The Scots PGC College and have been competing in the inter-school nationals in Sydney this week, along with many of their schoolmates.
Admission to all eventing at Morgan Park is free.
