Olympian to be guest speaker at 25th anniversary dinner

WARWICK Olympian Lee Bodimeade will be guest speaker at the 25th annual Daily News/Warwick Credit Union Junior Sports Star awards night on Monday at the Hawker Rd Function Centre.

Bodimeade went to school in Warwick and made Queensland hockey teams before heading to the AIS in Perth.

He was soon in the Australian under-21 team and then the open team.

Bodimeade scored the first goal in men's hockey at the 1992 Olympics and won a silver medal. He later coached the United States women to two Olympics.

The night will honour the 12 monthly junior sports stars and four Condamine Sports Club Volunteer of the Year nominees.
