Olympic rider home from overseas to compete in Warwick

EQUESTRIAN: Olympic rider Rebel Morrow will be in Warwick for the Inglewood Quarries CNC One Day Event this weekend.

She arrived in Warwick on Friday only 24 hours after flying back to Australia from competitions in Virginia, America.

"I rode horses for Sharon White who is in contention to represent the United States in the World Equestrian Games later this year in the United States,” Morrow said.

This weekend, Morrow will ride a horse for Phil and Sophie Edwards from the Lockyer Valley.

"I have ridden horses for Phil and Sophie Edwards in Warwick and won two-star for them on Belrieve Ice Queen in 2015,” she said.

Despite just arriving back in Australia, she was keen to compete at Warwick.

"The Warwick Horse Trials Club keep updating their course and have great facilities at Morgan Park,” Morrow said.

"I enjoy the variety of riding a cross country event on a course with a lot of trees.”

The second horse Morrow will ride this weekend is owned by Ipswich horsewoman Fiona Campbell.

The Warwick Horse Trials Club has attracted 240 nominations for a total of eight classes, including the juniors.

Free admission to the horse trials complex at Morgan Park, which is the last facility on the service road at the park and just past Morgan Park Raceway.

All dressage will be held Saturday and all the cross country on Sunday.

Showjumping Saturday and Sunday.
