Olympic rider nominated for one day event at Morgan Pk
EQUESTRIAN: The Inglewood Quarries CNC One Day Event will be held at Morgan Park this weekend.
There are 230 horse-and-rider combinations nominated for the eight classes.
Warwick Horse Trials Club president Tracey Sexton said it was huge to have 240 nominations.
"It will be one of our biggest weekends in recent years,” she said.
"We will have a number of riders from New South Wales in the fields.”
Due to the numbers, what is officially a one-day event will be held over two days.
The highest level class will be the Warwick Credit Union CNC Two-star. Allora rider Eleanor Osborne will be one of the favourites for this class.
Another of the favourites in the higher-level classes will be Gympie school teacher Brett Cantle who has been the most successful rider at Morgan Park in the past two years.
Atlanta Olympian Rebel Morrow has been riding in Canada but will be home in time to compete in lower grades this weekend.
The dressage starts at 8am Saturday on the arena in front of the clubhouse. Showjumping is on Saturday and Sunday with all the cross country on Sunday from 8am.
Sexton is always keen to welcome new volunteers who can call her on 0438234 815.
Free admission and seating near the clubhouse and some of the cross country jumps.
