On-field attack pay-off

SIMON Rolfe doesn't know much about the defensive end of a hockey field - he has always been a forward.

Going on his three goals in a 5-1 win against Redlands in Coulter Shield on Sunday at Queens Park, Simon is at his best end of the field.

He has played centre forward for Warwick in two days of Coulter Shield this season and is likely to be in the same position when Warwick plays in the Queensland under-13 boys championships on June 25-29 at Queens Park.

"I have always been a forward," Rolfe said.

The Assumption College student said his three goals against Redbacks were his best score in a Coulter Shield match.

"I combined a lot with right inner Matt Eastwell and centre-half Josh Jensen."

Rolfe scored two goals in the second game of the weekend, a 3-all draw with Sunshine Coast. Eastwell scored the third goal.

Warwick scored two goals early in the first half before Sunshine Coast fought back close to half-time. Phil Rolfe is Warwick coach.

Tweed/Border goalie Laurence Ellis is playing for Warwick.

"I was from the country so love playing for Warwick," Ellis said.
