One charged after violent outbreak in main street of Warwick

A VIOLENT outbreak outside the Criterion Hotel in Palmerin St has led police to arrest a 26-year-old male, but others are still being investigated.

Onlookers called Warwick police to the violent altercation between a number of men at 1:30pm on Thursday.

By the time police arrived, the fight had ceased and the men had dispersed.

But a Warwick man was arrested at 12:30pm today following a police investigation into the incident.

The 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with committing a violent public nuisance offence.

He is due too appear in Warwick Magistrates court on July 18.

Sergeant Shane Reid said police reviewed council CCTV footage and were able to see the incident occur.

"Inquiries are still continuing as to the other people involved.”

It is believed three men were involved in the incident.
