One goal apiece at the end for Colts and United

A TOUGH contest between the unbeaten Stanthorpe United colts team and home side, the Warwick colts, ended in a fitting 1-all draw yesterday

A goal by Stanthorpe United player Liam Halloran five minutes from fulltime kept United's unbeaten record intact in colts football this season.

Warwick were up 1-0 20 minutes into the game following great work in attack by Dan King.

There were plenty of shots in the final 20 minutes before Halloran headed into the net.

United acting coach Brett McEvoy said the play went from end to end.

"Both teams had their chances," McEvoy said.

The draw was the first of the season for the United colts.

McEvoy rated Alex Bell as his best.

Warwick acting coach Ian Perkins said Luke Dean was great in defence.

"Jordan Siebenhausen, Matt O'Brien and Josh Jordan were good up front," Perkins said.

United wins seniors

STANTHORPE United scored two goals in the first half and one in the second to beat Warwick 3-0 in the senior game at Queens Park yesterday.

Warwick coach Peter Osborn said the fast counter attack by United was crucial.

"They were strong with their wide players, it was a committed team effort by United," he said.

Osborn believes his side needed to control the ball better.

"We gave possession away at critical moments," he said.

Warwick will play Ballandean this weekend. The games will be the first for the Wolves at Ballandean since their move to the Stanthorpe competition.
