Osborne to coach Inglewood in BRL

RUGBY LEAGUE: Inglewood Roosters have become the fifth club in the Border Rugby League competition and Brent Osborne will be the A-grade captain-coach.

After making three successive grand finals and winning two premierships, Inglewood did not play in the past two seasons but is back for 2016.

It has 24 confirmed players and made a definite decision on Saturday to field a team in next season's competition. Player Ryan Donovan is president.

Osborne played A-grade for Warwick in 2015 when his home-town team did not form and will coach senior league for the first time.

"I joined with a couple of mates to coach Millwood under-7, under-8 and under-9 teams in 2010 when we were playing for the Roosters," he said.

He said a dozen players from the premiership teams of 2011-2012 would play and he expected a couple of players from Millmerran to join. He said most of the 24 are locals, including three 17-year-olds.
