Other half of alleged crime duo finally caught

BREAKING: THE male half of a 'Bonnie and Clyde' crime duo allegedly responsible for a string of armed robberies and car thefts across Queensland, along with the shooting of an 82 year old man, has been caught overnight by police in Brisbane.

His female accomplice was arrested in Warwick earlier this week.

A police spokesman said the male suspect was understood to have been found last night at Oxley in the course of committing a burglary.

He attempted to evade police in a stolen vehicle and was apprehended after a police pursuit which ended in officers smashing the windscreen of the vehicle and tasering the suspect in the face.

He is today in custody at Richlands watchhouse and will appear in court on Monday.

He is understood to be aged in his 20s.

The man has been arrested and charged in relation to an incident that occurred in Lowmead on July 22.

It will be alleged that that man entered the house of an 82-year-old-man, armed with a gun and demanded the keys to his vehicle.

During the incident, it will be further alleged that the man shot the 82-year-old in the leg before leaving in a stolen vehicle.

He has been charged with one count each of enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, burglary and commit indictable offence, armed robbery, grievous bodily harm and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

In addition, the man has been charged with 40 charges in regards to unrelated incidents.

His alleged accomplice, Christel Keitha Harrison, 29, appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Wednesday and remains in custody awaiting a further appearance.

She is facing a total of 27 charges including armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, trespass and grievous bodily harm.

They are also alleged to have committed robbery and break in offences in Rockhampton, Gympie, Goodna, Toowoomba and Warwick.
