Ough family daycare to open soon

THE Ough family has returned to Warwick after more than 25 years away, and they say it feels like coming back home.

Pamela and Michael Ough, with their daughter Rochelle, are moving back to the Rose City to open a home-based family daycare.

"Warwick is a great place to settle. It is a happy return for us," Michael said.

"Over the years in childcare, we have been privileged to have worked with wonderful children and their families - Rochelle has grown up in this atmosphere and she has enjoyed it immensely.

"We think it is wonderful that she has also embraced a career in child care, and gained her qualifications as an educator while studying Year 12 last year." Pamela and Michael's Family Day Care at their new premises on Dragon St (near Pringle Cottage) will cater for children from eight weeks old to five years of age.

"Some children find larger groups quite overwhelming, especially in their very early years when their confidence is building," Michael said.

"Our experience has shown us that by providing children with a comfortable, relaxed and safe environment, they can learn and play happily to best gain the skills they need in their most important learning years."

Something that the Oughs offer that may be a little different is instant updates to parents.

"We send email updates every day with photos, so parents get to see the little things their children do during the day," Michael said.

"That way they don't miss out - we think it is a big part of what we do."

Places at the daycare are very limited.
