Our cyclists in medal form
Warwick cyclists Tony Simonelli and John Eder won four medals between them at the national track championships on the Olympic velodrome in Sydney.
Simonelli won the points score for masters 5 and was third in the individual and teams' pursuits.
Eder won bronze in the 750m time trial in masters 3 in a close finish.
He qualified third fastest in the sprint and finished fourth in the final.
Both train at the Warwick Velodrome at Australiana Park and are part of the Ipswich Cycling Club.
Simonelli also trains as part of the Bracker Boys group each Wednesday afternoon at the Warwick District Sporting Car Club track at Morgan Park Raceway.
"This is my first gold on the track," Simonelli said.
"I have trained harder than ever this year and there are more riders training in Warwick than previously."
He won gold by five points in an event which is 15km in distance with a sprint every 10 laps (3.5km). In the teams' event, Simonelli joined with two riders from Brisbane and one from Rockhampton.
