WHEN he isn't out catching bad guys and fighting crime, Stewart Day is surrounded by games of cops and robbers and hide and seek.

The Warwick senior sergeant last month took over the role of president of the Warwick Community Kindy.

He will be supported by fellow committed parents Alex Mansfield as vice-president, Louise Rossiter as secretary and treasurer Anna Jackson.

Mr Day said he and the new committee were looking forward to continuing to improve the great service offered by the kindy.

"We would like to thank the outgoing committee, especially former president Kerri Walters, for all of the hard work they have put in," he said. "We are looking at making a number of improvements and we are always looking for people who would like to help out."

Mr Day said he and his fellow committee members signed up for the jobs to stay connected with their child's education.

"We all have kids coming here and we want to keep the community kindy going as the terrific learning facility that it is," he said.

While the kindy faces are vastly different to those Mr Day sees in his day-to-day work, the devoted dad said he welcomed the kindy life.

"It has been terrific so far and I am looking forward to the challenges of kindy," he said.

Mrs Rossiter served as vice president several years ago and said she was eager to throw herself into the secretary role.

"It is a lovely environment here at the kindy and I know how great the teachers and staff are here," she said.
