Our River

I was devastated to see that the willows have been cut down around our river.

About 10 years ago a friend and I started kayaking the river and taking photos and I started to appreciate its beauty.

I always felt lucky that we had the best of both worlds in Warwick, a beautiful natural river and a wonderful walkway and play area.

The first time the trees were cut it really upset me, but this time I felt the need to write.

I can only speak from my experience and what I have seen.

The ducks and waterhens use these beautiful trees as shelter and a place to build their nests.

Their are other birds as well and lizards.

These beautiful trees provide shade and also help keep the bank from eroding. I just can't see why this has been done.
