Our youth to raise their voice at forum
YOUNG people from across the Southern Downs are invited to participate in the Southern Downs Youth Engagement Forum today.
It is an opportunity to voice their opinions about services, employment, education and other topics.
Southern Downs Regional Council Youth Development Officer Hailey Cosh said the forum would be held from 9am until 5.15pm at the town hall.
"We encourage young people to come together and discuss the issues for young people in the Southern Downs and learn the processes to address these issues within their community," she said.
"This forum is very much about giving young people the skills to be responsible for making the most of the opportunities in their community, respecting others and voicing their opinions constructively on issues that matter to them.
"Added to this young people have the opportunity to find their place in society so they can engage with and participate in civic and community life."
