Jack Olive drives to the basket

Outside game lifts Demons to victory

BASKETBALL: A three-point barrage has helped the Demons take a hard-fought 52-42 victory over WIRAC.

Trailing by five at half-time, a big third quarter helped the side get out to an unassailable lead.

Josh Clark and Kevin Globio produced the goods in the second half, finishing with 13 and 12 points respectively.

Jack Olive was again a star for WIRAC, finishing with 13 points, alongside Connor Thornton, who's strong inside play saw him finish with a game-high 14 points.

In the night's other fixture, Josh Cremasco led the way as the Juggernauts claimed another decisive 57-41 victory over the Juniors.

The game was in the balance until the third quarter, before the Juggernauts went into overdrive, giving themselves a 10-point advantage heading into the final term.

The Big Q's leading scorer attacked the basket from the outset, finishing with 24 points for the evening, with guard Martin Fernandez coming up big in the second half, scoring 10 points to give him a tally of 12.

Tenterfield's Anthony Petrie brings his illustrious NBL career to a close tomorrow night in Adelaide after 11 years in the top flight.

Petrie started his career with the now-defunct West Sydney Razorbacks, before stints in Wollongong, Gold Coast, Adelaide and finally Brisbane.

The 34-year-old has represented Australia, claimed the most improved player award in 2010, and was chosen to the All Star game in 2013.
