P-plater causes crash on main road in Warwick

A YOUNG driver has caused a collision on the corner of Condamine and Albion St by failing to give way at a stop sign.

A young couple visiting Warwick from Boulia were caught by surprised when the driver attempted to cross Albion St without checking oncoming traffic.

Their van collided with speed into the side of the offending drivers Holden 4wd.

Warwick Senior Sergeant Shane Ross said the driver had only recently been given a provisional license.

"The young driver went through the stop sign without properly checking both directions," Snr Const Ross said.

"He was totally upset by what happened and will definitely know to slow down and check both ways from now on."
