Pace runners ready to help out at tomorrow’s Warwick parkrun from Queens Park
RUNNING: Tomorrow’s parkrun will be one with a difference - pace runners will be on course.
Periodically, parkrun organisers arrange for some pace runners to run 5km in 30 minutes so runners keen to better the half hour know they just have to keep in front of the pace runners.
A parkrun organiser said it had been nice to see a bit of a huddle around the Urban Mist - Mobile Specialty Coffee van at the end of each parkrun.
The warm drinks are very welcome for participants as the cooler weather is starting to set in.
Last week, Warwick parkrunners welcomed visitors from the Gold Coast and five first timers.
All welcome at 6.45am tomorrow for a 7am start at Queens Park, the starting point is towards the river from the rugby union field.
Runners/walkers need a barcode printed from the parkrun website to register on the day, cost to participate is free.
Warwick parkrun happens each Saturday with a rare exception May 21, the first day of the annual Daily News Pentath-run. At the usual time for the parkrun, hundreds of runners will be on course during the half-marathon to Yangan.
