Paceman stars in Davis Shield victory for Warwick
CALEB King is the Weekend Warrior after taking 4-11 off six overs to secure the Warwick Davis Shield side a cricket victory against a Stanthorpe combination at Mayhew Oval on Sunday.
Stanthorpe is not in the Davis Shield competition so the game was not for shield points but was one of the two Bourke Hendry Trophy games.
Batting first, Stanthorpe was dismissed for 77 with Harry Williams top scoring with 25.
King came on second change for Warwick and took two wickets in his sixth over for figures of 4-11. Off spinner Riley Doherty took 2-15 off five overs and leg spinner Shaun O'Leary 2-2 off three overs. Paceman Tyhe Clarkson was economical with figures of 1-9 off five overs.
Warwick scored the winning runs without loss, James Kurtz making 39 not out and Will Gordon was 19 not out in 0-78.
After a weekend off, Condamine Cup club cricket in Warwick will return this weekend with three games.
