Paddy’s Flat bushfire visible from Warwick

A HUGE plume of smoke is visible to the south of Warwick, making an out of control bushfire appear far closer than it is.

The Bangala Creek bushfire is located at Paddy's Creek, New South Wales, some 35km south of Killarney.

Killarney Rural Fire Brigade first officer Wayne Peterson said this is likely the source of the large, dark smoke cloud.

The blaze is 2000 hectares in size and currently burning in an easterly direction, according to the NSW Fire Service.

Hot and windy weather is aggravating the blaze, with spot fires travelling ahead towards Bonalbo, Old Bonalbo, Duck Creek and Bottle Creek.

Residents at Paddys Flat and Currawinya are at risk and advised by the rural fire service to seek shelter as the fire front arrives.
