Pair strikes gold with city motel
LOCAL business owners Peter and Colleen Andrews of Comfort Inn Warwick were recently presented with well-deserved Gold Award at a national conference.
The Choice Hotels Group's 49th Annual Conference was held at the Hamilton Island Convention Centre where the Andrews were flattered with their award after only a little more than a year in the business.
The Gold Awards recognise excellence in many areas but the Warwick husband and wife team credit their success to being centred on customer service.
"People like to see a friendly face when they're away from home," Mr Andrews said.
"We are both available at any time for anything that our guests may have questions about, and we love to help them to appreciate Warwick's attractions."
"The events that draw visitors to Warwick are the backbone to our success."
On the Gold Award, Mrs Andrews said it was nice to get recognition for something "that we now realise we love to do".
The pair moved to Warwick last year to get into the motel business and were quick to become a part of the town, with Peter aiding the hockey association with its clean-up efforts following the floods while Colleen was at the motel looking after the many workers who were in the area helping with the recovery efforts.
