Parkrun takes off running with new year resolutions

THE time is right to get those new year's resolutions up and running with the Warwick parkrun.

The weekly parkrun group start at Queens Park from 7am every Saturday.

Organiser Tara Behrmann said there had already been some new faces join the running group.

"We had 14 first time runners join the New Year's Day run," she said.

"It's great seeing new faces add to the regulars and having fun."

The Warwick parkrun attracts 50-70 runners each week but Ms Behrmann said they hoped to increase that number this year.

"We have set a target of 1% of the population which for Warwick would be around 100 runners each week," she said.

"We've just hit 1000 likes on Facebook and would love to see those people come down.

"Especially when the weather is so great and the council just mowed the grass so it looks fantastic."

Parkrun is a non-profit organisation that operates runs across the world.
