Friends offer support for Jumpers and Jazz
JUMPERS and Jazz lovers are being encouraged to show their support for the festival, as the countdown to July begins.
This year locals and visitors alike can sign up to become Friends of the Festival by giving a donation towards the cost of running the iconic event.
Warwick Art Gallery director Karina Devine said there had been strong interest in this year's festival.
Ms Devine said the Friends of the Festival was a wonderful new opportunity to really make a difference to the future of the festival
"One of the key initiatives inspired by the public meeting was to offer locals the opportunity to donate cash to the festival, with locals expressing a strong desire to contribute to the event," she said.
It's estimated the annual cost of running Jumpers and Jazz is more than $150,000, which is offset by major sponsors and grants.
Donations from Friends of the Festival will go towards graphic design work, printing, licenses, street closures, insurance, marketing and equipment and venue hire.
Bryson's Place owner Lynn Bryson said she was keen for people to get involved.
"We've had an awful lot of people say they want to do something," she said.
"I urge everyone to really think about how much they value what the festival brings to our town and support it.
"I think it's a great idea."
People who sign up to be a Friend of the Festival will have their name placed on a special tree jumper designed by the Warwick Art Gallery team for the festival.
To sign up, visit Bryson's Place, Warwick Visitor Information Centre or Warwick Art Gallery.
