Woman remains critical after Cunningham Hwy crash
A WOMAN who was injured in a crash on the Cunningham Hwy on Saturday remains in a critical condition.
The two-vehicle crashed happened at Thane at around 3pm.
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the scene and the CareFlight medical team assisted Warwick Ambulance paramedics in treating three patients, two women and a man.
A husband and wife had been travelling in one of the vehicles, the woman in a critical condition with head, spinal and abdominal injuries.
The man was stable with chest injuries.
They were flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane for further treatment.
Leyburn Police Officer-in-Charge Acting Senior Constable Steve Gibbs said police from Clifton, Warwick and Leyburn attended the scene.
"A 68-year-old male driver and 68-year-old female passenger were airlifted to the PA Hospital by RACQ CareFlight," Snr Const Gibbs said.
"A 30-year-old female driver taken to Warwick Hospital by ambulance."
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
