Patriotic seniors boil the billy
WARWICK seniors are well rested after a two-month hiatus and ready to party at a patriotic shin-dig.
On January 24, the Warwick Senior Citizens' Association will hold its first event of 2012, an Australia Day celebration.
Festivities, which kick off at 9.30am, will include sing-alongs, Aussie sports, morning tea and lunch.
The all-Aussie menu will feature damper, billy tea, corned beef, lamingtons and pavlova.
Publicity officer Mick McEniery said the day was open to everyone - not just members.
"We would like all of those thinking about joining to come along and see what we are about," he said.
"The seniors are really keen to get into it and keep asking when the first card game is."
Mr McEniery said group events were a great way for seniors to mingle with people of the same age, who shared the same interests.
The $10 cost for the Australia Day bash covers morning tea and lunch.
Those wanting to attend will need to RSVP by midday Friday with Joan on 4666 6239.
Mr McEniery said those who wanted to attend but did not have transport should call him on 4661 2741, or Joe on 4661 9996.
