The Peak is restaurant of the year

MARYVALE'S The Peak restaurant at Spicer's Peak Lodge has beat out Matt Moran's Aria for Queensland restaurant of the year.

The restaurant took out two awards - best fine dining and best Brisbane/Darling Downs restaurant of the year - at the 2012 Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering HOTSPLUS Awards last night.

They will go on to compete in the national finals at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on October 29.

The Daily News will catch up with chef Ashley Martin and the kitchen team when they return from the awards.
